Today's Class

Greetings everyone!

I hope that you are enjoying the rest of the day.  Let me recap what we studied today:

• We introduced grammar 3-1: Past Simple and Past Continuous
• We reviewed regular and irregular verbs as well as the pronunciation of -ed in regular verbs
• Then we learned about the usage of past simple 

Tomorrow, we will review the grammar learned during the AM class period and doing the reading for this unit.

Reading and Writing

Greetings everyone!

I hope that you are having a wonderful day.  Let me recap on what we did during the 1 o'clock hour:

• Finished reading 2-1 and answered questions
• Learned about creating simple sentences, using correct punctuation, and avoiding fragment and run-on sentences
• Assigned two homework assignments - Editing a paragraph and "My Dream House" Writing

For your homework, please read and correct the paragraph I emailed you.  You must email me this corrected paragraph by midnight tomorrow.

Also, you will have to do writing 2-1 "My Dream house."  This paragraph is due by midnight Sunday.  You can earn extra credit if you writing a 5 paragraph essay (like last time).

• We did impromptu speeches
• Worked on Reading 2-1 "A Real Estate Agent's Blog

Everyone did a great job today on your speeches.  We will finish the reading questions at the start of class tomorrow and then learn about our next writing assignment.

I hope that your test went well today.  For today, we went over the vocabulary and tried to make some sentences with them.  Please do not forget to do your homework which can be found on Joshua's blog.

Let's Write Today

Greetings everyone!

Another great class today.  Let me recap:

• Impromptu speeches
• Learned about writing topic, supporting, and concluding sentences (structure 1-1,1-2,1-3)
• Assigned writing 1-1 "what do you do everyday to be healthy?"

The writing is due on Sunday, April 22nd by midnight.  You must email it to me.  You have to write a paragraph using topic, supporting, and concluding sentences.  Also, if you write an essay, you will gain some extra credit.

Class - April 17th

Greeting everyone!

Let's recap on what we learned today:

• Finished correcting vocabulary exercise 1-1 (good job team A)
• Did reading 1-1 A Journal
• Worked on Reading 1-1 questions

Do not forget to do your homework!  Spelling City (found on Josh's blog) and finish reading questions 1-1.  Please give me your reading homework by 1pm tomorrow; either a paper copy or email.

Good job everyone!  Keep up the good work, and you should get ready to do some speaking tomorrow......hint hint.....

April 16th - Class

Greetings everyone!

I hope that everyone had a great test.  I bet all of you studied very hard!

Here is what we did today during our class:

• Made a new seating chart
• Reviewed this weeks vocabulary
• Learned about synonyms
• Worked on Unit 1 Vocabulary exercise

We ran out of time when correcting each teams anwsers, so please bring your answers to class tomorrow.  Remember, the team with the most right will win a prize!

Don't forget to do your homework.  Pick 5 vocabulary words and find synonyms for them.  Then use those synonyms in a sentence.

Thursday, April 12th

Greetings everyone!

Thanks for another wonderful class!  Let's recap on what we did:

• Collected your reading homework (remember late is a zero)
• Had a discussion about what you would do if you had a million dollars
• Did a listening with the song "If I had a million dollars"
• Started writing exercise 10-1

Everyone's paragraphs are looking very good.  Please remember to email me your paragraph by Sunday at 12pm.  Again, a late paragraph is a zero!!!!!!!!!

Class on April 11th

Greetings everyone!

All of you did a great job on your vocabulary name poems!  I was very impressed.  I didn't know that we had a class full of poets.

Do not forget about your homework.  Please finish the questions from the reading in Unit 9 - A Traveler's Guide to Vancouver.  Do part 1 and part 2.  You need to either email your answers to me or hand them in by the start of class tomorrow.

Greetings everyone!  I am glad to be back!

I really enjoyed your speeches today.  Remember: we will have short speeches once every week, so be ready to talk in front of the class (^_^)Y

Please remember to bring your Vocabulary Name Poems to class tomorrow.  We will finish them during the first 10 minutes and then read them out loud.

Also, do not forget to do your homework.  Please write 15 sentences in a conversation using at least 15 vocabulary words from unit 9 and 10.  We will review your homework in the morning.

• Reviewed today's lessons on present perfect,
• Practiced using the grammar through making questions,
• And interviewed our fellow classmates.
